About

I started sewing with my grandma as many people do. I remember sitting with her and enjoying both the time together and the feeling of making something with my hands. (I remember my brother Michael not quite getting the same thing out of the experience: one time we were making little pillows- he took one minute to stitch only 1 stitch for each corner, yelled “done!” and then ran off to do something else.)

I've always loved art: making it, watching it, being a part of it. Highlights include making collages with Michelle during sleepovers, dance class (from age 5 to present), throwing pots in college and sitting in a theater watching any kind of performance.

I came back to sewing mostly to patch my kids’ clothes as toddlers. Once they got bigger, I was able to get a little more creative and took sewing classes with Deby at G Street Fabrics in Rockville and learned to make bags, clothing and quilts. When the pandemic hit, I began to produce cloth masks for my local community. I mastered 5 child and adult sizes, chose special fabrics and included personalization on the outside and secret messages on the inside.

I’m proud to have opened Sealed with a Kish. I am honored to help you tell your special people what they mean to you. I look forward to working hard to make your gift awesome.
